Project Engineer – Technical Specialist (Electrical)

The rapid development of technology including the Internet of Things (IoT), next generation wireless communications (5G), autonomous vehicles, flexible hybrid electronics, medical sensors and wearables, presents new opportunities and challenges for Engineers. Electromagnetic simulation is playing an ever more critical role to ensure products can be designed for optimal performance in minimal time, and coexist without interference (EMI).

SIMULIA’s electromagnetic simulation tool, CST STUDIO SUITE, provides powerful and extensive electromagnetic simulation capability for a wide range of applications including RF/Microwave design, optics and photonics, antenna design and installed performance, specific absorption rate (SAR), bio-electromagnetics, co-existence, de-sense and interference, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and environmental effects (E3), Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI).

Leverage your engineering skills and experience to engage with key high tech customers and support the adoption and application of SIMULIA CST electromagnetic simulation. Capture customer requirements and deploy electromagnetic simulation methods and best simulation practices to increase customer productivity, efficiency, and confidence in design decisions.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Consulting in electromagnetic simulation
  • Technical support and training for Caelynx’s CST customers
  • Presales support, e.g. CST opportunity identification, demonstrations, presentations, customer/prospect visits

Desired attributes:

  • Master’s/PhD in electrical, electronic, or communications engineering
  • Competent knowledge of theory of electromagnetic fields, numerical methods in electromagnetics, and electromagnetic simulation
  • Sufficient engineering understanding beyond EM, in order to support and promote multiphysics simulation (structural, fluid, thermal, etc, as they relate to electromagnetic design)
  • Experience with most of the following: 3D electromagnetic field simulation, electrical or electronic design, RF/microwave design, antenna design, PCB design, EMC/EMI
  • Some familiarity with tools like HFSS, CST, FEKO, ESI CEM-ONE
  • Ability and willingness to travel for short training and sales trips
